The Department of Master of Computer Applications was started with a sanctioned intake of 30 in the year 1998. In 2000 the intake increased to 60. The department of Computer Applications established in the year 1998 was affiliated to University of Madras, Chennai. From 2002 batch onwards the course is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The MCA is designed as an intensive full time 3 years course spread over six semester with 60 students intake and from the year 2013, Lateral Entry system was implemented for the BCA and B.Sc., Computer Science students. The structure of the program consists of core courses, supportive courses, program electives, interdisciplinary electives , Seminars, Workshops, Internships, Practical’s, Experimental Learning through Industrial Visit and Research Projects.

So far 18 batches with 737 students were passed out, in which there were 18 University Rank Holders.
